Toshiba Satellite L30 Laptop, CeleronM 1.86GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD, DVDRW, Windows Vista Get Rabate

Product Description

Better than stated
This laptop is better than the last two reviews have declared. The biggest problem, if you can call it a problem, is the 512mb of memory just doesn't cope with Windows Vista. When I got mine and had a friend, whose really good at computers, take a look and he diagnosed it was sold as 'bare min requirements' and only needed some upgrading, essentially more memory. So I installed an extra 2 GB (basically unscrew a couple of screws on the back and the memory just plugs into slots very easy to do) and trust me it has never let me down and been a real good bit of kit. I use it for work all the time and have a carry case, that I got of one of the dealers on here and it has travelled with me for the last 3 years. I also use it to watch dvd movies when I am away from home and it can even write discs, so I am pleased with it. The main thing is everybody wants to just open the box and it does everything for you, sometimes a bit of tweaking or upgarding can work wonders and it's not that...

Review 2 : vista rubbish
this is a great laptop before you install vista, this machine is just too slow with 512mb of ram. i suggest getting 2gb of ram or getting windows xp pro. like i say i would recommend this laptop to anyone as with 2 gb of ram it can play quite processor heavy games like tomb raider anniversary and huntign unlimited 3 + 4.

also when my laptop came i noticed that the screen had some sort of grey splodges Iinside. i have no idea what this is but perhaps its lack of quality control in he factory. i sent it back to the place where they fix them but they said that they couldn't fix it. they said that i had done it but it was like it out of the box. i blame the delivery people DHL.

if your planning on buying this laptop i would say go for it but be aware of these problems to avoid dissapointment when you find your computer struggles to even open the time and date window!
