How to resolve the battery not charging issue
When I bought this, I found there to be a problem with the battery not charging and the windows icon showing that 0% of the battery capacity was available. The laptop would switch off if the charger lead was removed. I initially exchanged the laptop at the store I bought it for because of this problem, but then the second laptop also had the same issue so I decided to try and find a solution before going to the store for the second time in two days to return an item.
I resolved this problem by shutting down the laptop, removing the charger lead and the laptop's battery from the base. I then held down the power button above the keypad for 30 seconds before putting the battery and charger lead back into the laptop.
This fixed the problem and the battery was 100% charged within 2 hours.

Review 2 : One of the best deals in town
On receiving the box my first impression was that it was very light in weight, suggesting that the contents might be somewhat flimsy. Only when the Toshiba Laptop was unpacked did the size/weight ratio provide a little more confidence that the build quality was OK. It is however of a different breed from my old Dell Laptop (2003 vintage), which is built like a tank.
The Toshiba is nicely put together, with the Dark Silver Matrix pattern of the casing providing a very attractive finish. Numerous strips of transparent protective film cover the fascia panel, screen edges and hinges and keyboard. When these are removed the Laptop shines pristine technology at you, but also pristine plastic. Plastic is very much today's material and is not necessarily as delicate as it seems, and this Toshiba is not devalued by it.
I auditioned several laptops locally and the keyboard on most of them seemed to flex when typed upon. The Toshiba keyboard has a more solid feel to it and...
