I bought this laptop mostly for gaming on travels or as a secondary one when I'm using my pc for something else.
Gaming performance surprised me, Far Cry 3, Skyrim, Dead Space 3, all of them can be played at mid-graphics or even higher, although battery will die in less than 2 hours. For more common purposes, as watching movies, surf the net... you can reach about 4 hours, but I've never been able to make the battery last more than that.
Included software is generous, sound system is acceptable, comfortable keyboard and touchpad.

If you can get over all the crap-ware that's pre-installed then you'll be very happy. It takes about 3 hours to uninstall the all the demo software and games that come with Acer and Windows 8. Once that's done you're left with a pretty good machine.

As with other reviewers the mousepad is an issue and I had to turn off tapping as clicking to stop it thinking that I was clicking all over the place. Also you will find yourself wiping the area below the keyboard and the back as they attract fingerprints.

Both are very minor issues and don't stop me giving this 5*'s
