Great laptop for the price!
I purchased this laptop before I went off to university in 2008, and I still have it to this day, infact, I am using it to write this review. When it arrived it was as stylish as it looks in the pictures and was really easy to set-up. I am not an expert in laptops or PC's but the descriptions and specifications were easy to understand and not too technical. I researched laptops in my price range and found that this laptop was all I would ever need, hence why I stil have it now. It easily matched, and sometimes beat, the specifications of laptops with a similar price. I looked at Sony Vaio, Asus, Toshiba and Dell and all were either more expensive for lower specifications or just generally got bad reviews across the board.

I purchased this laptop in April and still have it today. I purchased it originally for Uni as it had all the relevant specs needed for what i would be using it for. To start with, the build is fantastic, the media control center on the side is also very nice and even has a HOLD feature which allows you to turn it off (this is very useful when you first get this laptop as i found i kept accidently touching parts of the control centre as i got used to the keyboard).
After a week of having the laptop i was once again able to touch type and am now very used to the laptop. The fingerprint scanner also adds to the laptop in its security as well as a gadget to add. The addition of a Blu-Ray player also made me want to buy this laptop and the great thing about it is that it also upscales normal DVDs, meaning any DVDs which you watch will automatically look better.
For the sound, it is brilliant, it comes with a Dolby Home Theater system built into the laptop and I feel the sound...

Review 1 : My Acer ...
I like the style and finish of this product. Backlit keyboard and finger print identification just marvellous. I did not liked the on/off switch and right and left click buttons, it felt very flimsy and unpleasant. Apart from that I loved all the features in the laptop. Monitor was very large and very sharp images pure HD effect. Very fast and ' to be proud off' image of the computer. I love it.

Review 1 : Bit skeptical at first
I wasn't sure about Windows 8 at first because I had read many reviews about it and a friend said it wasn't great either. But actually I quite like it now. The laptop boots up really quick which is probably my favorite thing about it, and the keyboard is really nice to use. All the sockets are at the back which is quite annoying, but the on/off button is pretty neat.

The sound from the speakers isn't bad, and the overall design is very sleek, the material of the casing really nice to touch, it's quite interesting actually (you'll know what I mean if you buy one).

I bought this laptop for gaming, not any really demanding games, but so far it hasn't let me down and the game I play (league of legends) looks great on it. I wanted a laptop that I could play games on take with me when I go on holidays or something, which is why I went for a 15" screen, and for what I want it's pretty much perfect.

Had the laptop nearly 24hours and have to say extremely impressed by it. Well Done Acer.

Don't be put off by the cheap price tag compared to similar spec models from other manufacturers.

Had a very surprising experience when powering up as the laptop comes with a BACKLIT KEYBOARD which wasn't described on Amazons website.

Seems to have good battery life, not too heavy in hand, and reasonable build quality. Speed and the stay cool feature of the laptop is second to none. Touch screen is an excellent option as most things seem to be going that way these days, just a natural reaction to touch the screen as with phones tablets etc

Windows 8 is new and exciting but takes a little getting used to compared to previous windows versions, but again compliments the touchscreen capabilities. (Would suggest watching youtube videos, tutorials etc first)

No Negatives at present.

Review 1 : Great 3D - but new technology doesn't help.
I bought this 3D laptop a few weeks ago and have been exploring its 3D capabilities along with the Fuji Finepix Real 3D W1 camera I also bought at the same time. The 3D view of my Fuji photos works great - looks really good with a definite 3D effect. Unfortunately shortly after I bought it the demo 3D files from Acer included stopped working, and it seems that Acer will only respond to support requests if you live in America or Canada, so other than the 3D on my 3rd. party camera, I can't access 3D pics or videos.
There are many 3D sites on the Internet, but none of them seem to actually produce a 3D effect with this laptop. Using my Fuji, I can get 3D stills of my photos which activate the 3D viewing mode of this laptop. Bit of a problem is that the 3D glasses flash from the left eye to the right eye 120 times a second. As they don't show the pictures from both eyes at the same time at any 120/th. second you are only looking through one eye - although this isn't noticeble...

the 3.0 usb port is great just a pity all 3 weren't 3.0.

Battery life its good

screen resolution max seems to be 1366 x 768 would have liked higher however blu rays still look fantastic

Delivery as usual prompt and all ready to run out of the box

one thing you have to do is create master restore disks, you'll need 3 disks (in case of ultimate failure and reboot required)

Review 1 : Acer Aspire i7 laptop
Bought this laptop as a replacement for a Macbookpro, which I have disliked for day 1. Unboxing the Acer was filled with excitment as I had done loads of research on other i7 laptops, and this one fitted the bill for me.
Once unboxed, there it was all shiney and new, feels very light and very portable, setup was the standard windows proceeedure. Took about one hour. Plenty of software loaded, which was uninstalled as I didnt really need it, but with 750G of HDD I could have left it.
The screen was bright and vibrant, the screen casing was very well tensioned with the body and opening the lid was easy.
There is a nice keyboard lay out, and the tracker pad being slightly offset from the centre to the left, took about 10 mins to get used to the tracker pad keys.

I really like Acer laptops for their design and value for money, this is the 2nd acer i have owned and really enjoy being behing the keys.
The speed of the laptop will rival my Macbook pro, actually...
Review 2 : So many variations on a theme choose carefully.
I'm really pleased with my purchase, it offers a considerable step up in performance compared to my 6 year old Philips laptop. However one thing I found a little tiresome when choosing the Acer was the number of subtle variations on apparently one model. There appears to be at least 5 different spec versions of the 5755G available on Amazon. Not only memory (6 or 8Gb) and drive size (500Gb,750Gb, 1Tb) which you might expect, but also processor(I7-2670 rel Q4/2011, I7-2630 rel Q1/2011), Graphics (GT540M or GT630M) and also DVD-Dual or Blu-Ray. Certainly adds to the complexity of comparing prices. In the end I plumped for the 8Gb, I7-2630, 1Tb, Blu-Ray, directly from Amazon for a very respectable sub
