Great performance.....but....
Laptop was bought for my son at university as a Christmas present to replace and ageing Acer. Performance and graphics were superb but after 3 weeks it suffered a major crash and wouldn't restart so had to be returned. Amazon were faultless with handling teh return but as new stocks are not expected for 2 months we had to have a refund.

This Acer Aspire V3-571G 15.6-inch Laptop - Black (Intel Core i7 3610QM 2.3GHz, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, Blu-ray, LAN, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Nvidia Graphics, Windows 8 64-bit) does fantastic. simple to operator as well as change. the price for this became reduced when compared with other areas, my partner and i other locations investigated, and never considerably more when compared with comparable product.

Review 1 : Fantastic Laptop
This laptop offers amazing value for money. Having done quite bit of research before choosing my laptop, I was not able to find another laptop offering such specs for such a price.

Having used for two months I have not been able to find many flaws. It easily copes with the most recent video games (FC3) without having over-heating problems (which I have found to usually occur on high-spec laptops). It is also very quite when on high performance settings. Windows 8 is a personal preference - though I have found it to grow on me, as I was skeptical about it beforehand. As mentioned in other reviews, it's quite easy to change to a windows 7 setup.

The only flaw is the Acer additional software - however it is simple to uninstall it and isn't as intrusive as previous Acer laptops.

I would highly recommend it to anyone who is either a graphics or video editor, or a casual-to-avid gamer. I also expect to be able to cope with new software and games for at least...

Review 1 : Super value
A friend bought this exact laptop from amazon a month before myself. I LOVED it so ordered my own one. The only issue was delivery. After my friend got his there were none left, then they said delivery would be 2 MONTHS. Luckily I kept checking and saw stock in and a quick delivery just before xmas!! Yeah!
Ordered and it arrived within 4 days, as before with my friends....it was very well packed, comes with 3D glasses, headphones, a nice back pack bag for everything....great!
It is a bit heavier than many laptops but this IS a serious gaming beast. The graphics are fantastic, sound is adequate. Put in a 3D dvd but it wouldn't play....had a bit of a hoo ha setting up the 3D options which was very annoying...it definitely is NOT plug and play, if I wasn't technically minded I would have struggled BIG time. This was more annoying than anything. Got it going in the end and the 3D was excellent.
Overall this is a very good spec laptop, I will be using it for video editing...
Review 2 : Beware wrong laptop - but still great
i wont go all techy - cant spell it tonight - but beware that this laptop has 1 model number with atleast 2 different specs and i didnt get the ordered - however it turns out i was better off with the lesser machine (techy stuff ignored) - others may not be - and my biggest uppset was amazon saying they sent right item and implying i was wrong (stupid even) whilst i sit here with a 660m graphics card.
ROG laptaps r great - and the 660m model is no lame beast - runs very cool and come with extra mouse, rucksack, and headphones not listed -

all in all - i did ok - but if needed you may to argue spec -

still score amazon highly though - 95% time they r the greatest

Excellent machine
I know what you're looking for. It'll run Batlefield 3 at 1680x1050, medium settings at around 40 fps. The build quality is fantastic, sound is better than any laptop I've ever heard, and Windows 8 isn't quite as restrictive as you may think. It took me a while, but I'm now dual-booting Windows 8 and Ubuntu 12.10.
The only thing I could fault it for is that its touchpad isn't very comfortable to use, but I'm used to an Acer Aspire D250 netbook, so that'll probably change over time.

Apart from the obvious lack of an illuminated keyboard, which clearly is an unforgivable sin, I have found it very difficult to find fault with this laptop. The screen is awesome Full-HD non-reflective, very good sound, decent amount of memory, decent processor, decent enough HDD, decent enough battery life, well built, 4 USB 3's, BluRay, HDMI and VGA outputs and free 32Gb of cloud storage from ASUS. In fact this is the laptop I have been waiting for - it is my new best friend. Bought it a couple of weeks before Crimbo and have been using in constantly since. If I could I would have given this six stars to compensate for the one star below which does not do this laptop justice at all.

If I were to seriously nit-pick however, then I would say the laptop is a little heavy (but comparable with other devices of similar spec), and the addition of a smaller capacity, but much faster SSD would have suited me better.

I am writing this review on the laptop. Its new so hope that the battery life should be good. I am yet to be swayed about Windows 8 though, and the lack of a bar at the base of the mouse pad is more than a little irksome.
The set up was easy and when opening up the computer, it is the fastest laptop that I know of to boot up. Less than 2 seconds on all occasions. The only other fault is that the mouse pad on the upper left side appeared to be unstuck from its finger sensor. The use of the mouse pad is tedious and takes a lot of getting use to but the easy way around the problem, especially with some programs, in my case Paintshop Pro, I bought a mouse to use on one of the USB3 connections. Much happier now.
Overall, the laptop is all that I was looking for and has some great write ups. Only let down by the mouse pad and Windows 8.
