Dell Inspiron 15R 15.6-inch Laptop (Intel Core i3-330M 2.13GHz,4Gb,500Gb,DVD/RW,WLAN,Webcam,Win 7 Home Premium) - Red Get Rabate
Product Description
Laptop is faulty and the Dell technical support is useless
I bought this laptop for my 13-year-old daughter for Christmas.
The internal speakers do not work. When we tried to contact Dell technical support we found that there is free support 24/7 in the USA but in the UK they are only open office hours and charge 60p per minute.
After trying twice and hanging on for 20 minutes each time we have given up. Their support line is designed to make a profit, not to provide a service to customers.
I will never buy another Dell product.

Review 1 : Nice but
My daughter bought this laptop, but I helped with the initial set up. One of the first steps advised is to take a recovery backup. This is done using DELL's own software, but the software refused to recognise the the laptops DVD writer. Having chosen to backup to DVD, the option being either an external drive or an 8GB USB stick we got an error message saying that there wasnt enough memory available on the hard drive ?? then the message that there wasnt a DVD writer available ?? This went on for a couple of hours until we resolved to return the laptop, at which point as if sensing we were beaten, the internet kicked in (lucky we were connected) with an upgrade to the DEL software, after which things went smoothly. So beware the DELL software as shipped.
