Review 1 : Do not buy this
I have always liked Lenovo products and have used their computers for years but this was an experience after which I am never going to buy Lenovo laptop ever again. I could not seem to find any customer review about this laptop so I decided to write one myself.
I have bought this laptop and considered it great - so light and nicely looking. However, after a few hours of using, it started with this weird clicking sound. I did not know what it was but knew that any sound from HDD is not a very good sign. Nobody knew what to do and since it was very soon after I had bought it, they took the laptop back and gave me a new one. What a surprise it was, when the new one did the exactly same sound! I could not believe it but considered it normal, yet so very annoying... I decided to use the computer and after a week or so I found out that the sound is the sound of a head parking (which can be audible but should definitely not be so loud and annoying), this fact was supported by the fact...
Review 2 : Lenovo s400 - Poor Quality
This is my first ever Amazon review and I admit it's mainly motivated by the fact that the product has been disappointing. I cannot fault Amazon's exchange service but thought that I may be able to manage other buyer's expectations. I have actually had two of the Lenovo S400 laptops so far. The first had a faulty keyboard where the slightest pressure around the "w" key caused a stream of w's to be typed, along with the consequent Windows "bongs" if a dialogue box was open at the time. The second machine had a display that looked as though it was made of two different panels. It had a clear vertical line down the middle caused by the colour settings on either side of the display being completely different. Before ordering the laptop I had read the other one star review that described issues with the hard disk drive. I think it's fairly clear that this is a budget machine for a 14" laptop and corners are clearly being cut in component quality. The machines I had both were built in early...
