My husband bought me this laptop for christmas. I absolutely love it. It's fast, the screen is clear. For a typist like me, the keyboard is great. It has a number pad too, which is unusual. No problems and I'm running Windows 7 which is great.

Review 1 : new laptop
i bought this laptop due to me having a accident with a cup of tea
over the key board of my last laptop,
i have to say i am very impressed, i actually ordered the 5532 windows 7
laptop but recieved the 5732z model which is a better model by having a
intel pentium prosseser t4300,not t3400 that is stated on the specifications,
instead of a amd prossecer ,(so slow) so it is a marginally superior processer,
i have only had this for a few days but i am exstremly pleased with the purchase
and windows 7 which is such light weight ease when using it compared to vista
and i have been a vista fan and never a vista basher!!
the screen is a 16.9 viewing experience and gives the impression of a larger
screen than it is and with 3 gb of memory with windows 7 it is a new experience while
using this laptop, with such ease and grace and a touch of class, another budget range laptop from acer
with the feel and specs of a solid midrange laptop.
Review 2 : almost excellent
This is a very a good low price all-rounder - fast, very good screen and extras included such as a good qulity web cam. Also, an apparently well designed hardware set up along with the (so far) trouble free Windows 7 mean that slow operations and crashes almost never happen.

The first obvious problems are on the audio side: despite a good web cam, there's no michrophone. And the speakers are the worst I've ever heard on a computer....like the sound out of an ear-piece.

Both these faults are easily solved by connecting auxilliary speakers and mike, but that does, of course, reduce its utilty as a portable.

General point: When will manufacturers (of TVs, computers - any muti-media stuff) get it into their heads that audio quality is every bit as important as video quality?

Short Lived
I already replaced the keyboard twice as the pieces are easily flipped off. It constantly overheats, I can get about one hour of use before it shuts itself down. The Case cracked because it gets too hot and its very noisy because of the fan; last Acer I buy. Wife has a Toshiba bought the same day, works as it did new!

Review 1 : Good product - never used the support services though
I did read the one and only review which rated the Aspire 4920 Notebook with 1 star - I've never found the need to use Customer Services and I hope I never do.
However, the computer it self appears to be a 'really good product'. Everyone who see's this product is amazed at the quality and at the speed of which it works and responds - I would recommend this laptop to anyone

Even with its compact size the keyboard is easy to use. The multi function touch pad takes a bit of getting use to but very appeasing once mastered. Battery life gets plus points as once fully charge it will go on for the recommended 6 hrs quite sufficiently; avoid streaming or video as this shortens the battery life dramatically.
Clarity of the screen is crystal clear, and easy to adjust the font size if the characters seem to small.
In all 9 out 10, only since it is a shame to have such a clear picture and not be able to watch films and TV without a power supply just in case.

Beautifully presented netbook which is really easy to use. The full size keyboard is a boon and the screen although small is very clear and you soon do not notice the compact size. Mouse pad has always been a problem for me and this machine is no different - must be an age thing so I use a cordless mini mouse.

One star short of a full five, because it has twice not opened up properly, requiring me to remove the battery and reinsert to enable me to boot up. On-line care is day sensitive, so had to use independent computer geek to sort out.

Would still recommend highly due to all its other plus points.

Great size and weight, super quick but very little storage
Very quick laptop and great size. The two main reason it was bought to be honest. Was hesitant on the very low storage in the 128gb ssd but thought the added speed of it being an ssd would make up for it. Be warned that your 128gb has under 65gb available after OS and the bloat ware acer have added which is crazy. Still though if u don't mind using an external drive its a great little machine perfect if your on the move with it a lot, great battery life if all your doing is surfing and using word or excel.

Review 1 : slim, light and decent build, but some points to keep in mind.
I travel most weeks with laptop in backpack, this new laptop has made my travel a joy with its ultra-slimness and lightness. With all the good there are some down points to consider.
1. It has no network adaptor, so get a USB one if you need wired.
2. It only has 2 USB ports, so get a hub if you need more.
3. It has Bluetooth, and I tried a blue tooth mouse but it constantly went into sleep mode despite the Acer BT settings not supposed to be doing that.
4. It only has 4GB RAM and that's your lot as these are soldered direct to the motherboard, this latter point took me by surprise as I had hoped to go to 8GB, but it just abaout manages my needs with 4GB
5. The CPU is Core i7, but my old HP had a Core i5 and was faster than this Acer, although i have removed all the nonsense apps installed by Acer and now it seems much better.
6. The wireless net card takes around 2-3 minutes to connect, so far from being fast as described its possibly the slowest laptop...

I didn't buy this through Amazon, I spent 50 quid more and got it from a local Comet as I needed it that day (plus I wanted to try the keyboard first). My main machine is a high spec MacBook Pro and I bought this for one purpose only - to run VMWare Workstation on as I spend a lot of my time building Ubuntu systems and VMWare on the Mac doesn't have the features I need. I wanted a light, portable machine and this is definitely that.

It's cheap, fast and does the job I wanted it for. I've also been doing some development on it, played some DVDs on it, also played the online game EVE on it. It does them all and unlike the so called 'NetBooks' which are everywhere, the keyboard is useful as is the screen resolution. The screen *is* small but not too small for me. I owned one of the first EEE PC's and found that to be too small. This is just right (for me). Even the speakers on this sound 'not bad at all'.

So let's talk about the build. Well - it's pretty plasticky...

Review 2 : A Great Little Laptop !
I needed a smallish and lightish laptop for long train journeys, primarily to work on, and with good battery life, ideally at a budget price. This laptop meets all of these criteria and far more. The surround sound and dvd drive mean that I can watch the odd film on it (instead of working !). The DVD drive is also a writer which will be useful for work. I have a bluetooth printer at home so, the bluetooth means that I can connect to that easily. Surprisingly, for the price, it doesn't seem flimsy at all - it is quite well built. And I love the look of it - very stylish and cool.

I have 1 gripe - there is a lot of pre-installed software that I didn't want and had to spend ages uninstalling (trial versions that are completely pointless) - I would have rather been given them on a DVD and had the choice.

I didn't buy the laptop from here in the end but, Tesco Direct because I could get the same laptop there at the same price but, with a 250 gb hard drive rather than...
