Review 1 : Great solid laptop
I've had this laptop for a few months now and am very happy with it. When I got it, it ran pretty slow with vista... However, removing all the bundled rubbish such as Norton and MS Office (I use open office) and a bunch of other pre-installed software it worked great. I'm planning to upgrade to XP soon in hopes of even better performance :-)

I've also got Ubuntu 8.04 on it as well and have had no problems with it, it picked up all the hardware including the wireless chip straight out of the box. It also picks up the build in web cam too! The only thing I haven't figured out how to set-up/use in Ubuntu is the Infra red device built into the front of the laptop. But I've got no real need for it.

The battery life is good, I've had nearly 2.5 hours out of it for general web browsing and instant messenger. The Wireless is awesome too with acer's "signalUp" technology. It has a really nice clear, bright screen as well. An important point is that the keyboard...

The seller emex-systems is providing a false information about this product! Wander how no one has taken any action against them yet! The model is not a 12 inch but 16 inch laptop! All Acer laptop-models are numbered according their screen size. So this one here says 6920G which means 16 inch model. 12 inch Acer will have a number beginning with 2 , 13 inch - a number beginning with 3 and so on.I sent an e-mail to emex-systems asking them to give more details about the product according to what they say it is.No reply.Do not buy from this seller , probably fake!!!

THis was a replacement for an Acer that I lost in a house flood, it was only 6 months old but this replacement is far superior.
Its well set out, does not have the number pad at the right hand side, but unless you are doing lost of maths or accounts its no loss. It does have the media console on the left, a great gadget and I would get even more use from it it I watched movies on the PC.
The wide screen is ample side not to strain you eyes when working for long periodsand the wrist area is confortable. THe finger scanner is usefull and makes loging onto web sites and programmes quick and easy.
It does glow bright blue when you shut it down and leave it plugged in for charging, which is a bit of a security risk as its says look at me.
Has blue ray, which again I have not made the most of yet, but watching the sample dvd the quality is great.

Review 1 : Great when you get rid of Vista!
One of the reasons for the (relatively) cheap price for this machine is that it is old stock with Vista installed. As we all know, Vista is rubbish and slows the machine down horribly. Get rid of Vista and install Win XP or Win 7 and this machine is very good.

Good points:
* Nice keyboard, very light to use
* Good size for business use
* Good size Hard disc and RAM
* Good battery life
* Light

Bad points:
* Vista obviously)
* Only 3 USB ports
* Screen does not have a particularly wide viewing angle
* Pre-installed garbage ware

Summary:
Get rid of Vista (I have an XP / Linux dual boot setup), delete the demo games and other pre-loaded rubbish software and this is a very good business PC.

I brought this laptop to replace my old laptop which is Acer Aspire 7720, which is a very good laptop but it had alot of technical problems, that I don't really need to go into detail with. I've only had Acer Aspire 7735G for about 3 days, and it's been ok. It takes quite along time starting up and turning off. And despite being 4GB memory/RAM, it can only roughly have as much open programs as my Acer Aspire 7720. The one thing about Acer Aspire 7735G that I found VERY annoying, is that it has NO external volume control devices, meaning I have to turn it up and down manually through the volume icon in the system tray. Looks good with a professional finish. well designed keyboard, mouse pad and large power button with the led lights small and unobtrusive. I had a problem with the laptop restarting itself very often, but sent it to be repaired and is now fine. It runs all the games i have tried with it and copes well with most tasks.

This is a very nice looking laptop when it was opened, but straight away I noticed problems... The computer have serious hardware issues been switch it self off very often. I have notice same issue reported from other customers... Software is also problems: program and internet seems often crashes on start up and need to be started twice, and the control such as volume adjustment are also slow to respond. I brought it mainly for watching DVD so atleast this is good, but forget it if you are serious gamer cause the graphic card sucks and looks awful at full 1600*900 reslution.
