Review 1 : Great when you get rid of Vista!
One of the reasons for the (relatively) cheap price for this machine is that it is old stock with Vista installed. As we all know, Vista is rubbish and slows the machine down horribly. Get rid of Vista and install Win XP or Win 7 and this machine is very good.

Good points:
* Nice keyboard, very light to use
* Good size for business use
* Good size Hard disc and RAM
* Good battery life
* Light

Bad points:
* Vista obviously)
* Only 3 USB ports
* Screen does not have a particularly wide viewing angle
* Pre-installed garbage ware

Summary:
Get rid of Vista (I have an XP / Linux dual boot setup), delete the demo games and other pre-loaded rubbish software and this is a very good business PC.

I brought this laptop to replace my old laptop which is Acer Aspire 7720, which is a very good laptop but it had alot of technical problems, that I don't really need to go into detail with. I've only had Acer Aspire 7735G for about 3 days, and it's been ok. It takes quite along time starting up and turning off. And despite being 4GB memory/RAM, it can only roughly have as much open programs as my Acer Aspire 7720. The one thing about Acer Aspire 7735G that I found VERY annoying, is that it has NO external volume control devices, meaning I have to turn it up and down manually through the volume icon in the system tray. Review 1 : good computer
Looks good with a professional finish. well designed keyboard, mouse pad and large power button with the led lights small and unobtrusive. I had a problem with the laptop restarting itself very often, but sent it to be repaired and is now fine. It runs all the games i have tried with it and copes well with most tasks.

This is a very nice looking laptop when it was opened, but straight away I noticed problems... The computer have serious hardware issues been switch it self off very often. I have notice same issue reported from other customers... Software is also problems: program and internet seems often crashes on start up and need to be started twice, and the control such as volume adjustment are also slow to respond. I brought it mainly for watching DVD so atleast this is good, but forget it if you are serious gamer cause the graphic card sucks and looks awful at full 1600*900 reslution.

BARGAIN
For the 449 price this is just a bargain. Based on my Internet research there is no matching laptop at this price with comparable specs (cpu, memory, screen).
It comes with Vista, which is obviously not great but for those lucky who got it before 31/01/10, there was a win7 upgrade (only 32 bit, so cannot access all RAM).
I installed ubuntu 10.04 (now beta) on it and runs with no problems (I did not try the fingerprint reader). There is an issue with the multi-touch support, but I believe it will be fixed shortly. Ubuntu does not do wifi power management out of the box, so it is possible to add some surfing time, by enabling this.

pros:
- small
- light
- fast, low power CPU, 4 GB DDR3 RAM
- 4-5 h of battery life
- nice design (brushed metal lid, chiclet keyboard)

cons (that's me being picky):
- uses fan a bit too much
- glossy screen + easily catches any dust/fingerprints

Review 2 : A great laptop, very good for value, highly recommend it!
I bought this laptop for my university studies and it is great for that. For this price I can't find any better specification. CPU is a very good P series Intel processor. It is also looking very nice. Keyboard is easy to use. I installed Windows 7 64bit and it works very well. I am very happy with my purchase.

Pros:
1- High speed processor
2- comfort keyboard
3- fingerprint sensor (doesn't work properly on Windows 7)
4- Screen is very bright and sharp, even better than my Sony Vaio laptop!
5- multi tough touch pad which is easy to use.
6- Good build quality

A few Cons:
1- Do not expect sound quality from this laptop. The sound volume is high but very poor quality. for me it is OK since I don't need it for movies, etc.
2- The screen is a bit glossy. Again it is OK if you don't want to use it outside.

Update:
Several problems:
1- The glass covering the screen can absorb dust and it is getting worse when...

I agree with the previous review which stated that he would personally not buy an Acer. I did and regreted it. The machine when it worked was good especially the sound and screen clarity but the service from Acer was absolutely appalying. They were rude, unhelpful and sarcastic. Fortunately when it totally crashed and the harddrive went after about 5 months the seller refunded my money. I was glad to get shot of it. Like this one I got it at a reduced price but if in the end it doesn't work the price reduction and technical wizardry isn't of much use.
Review 2 : Awesome to this day
I bought this about 8 months ago and have come to use it more than my desktop! I got it for an awesome price while a deal was on and it has been worth every penny, runs very smooth as long as I look after it. The floated keys are very nice to use and the colour of the laptop is a nice rich blue. Not too heavy, battery lasts an ok amount of time, enough for me to use when on a train or anything else. Runs the adobe suite as well as 3DS MAX fairly easily. If you know a thing or two about computers than upgrading it to windows 7 shouldn't be a problem.
