I spent a couple of weeks periodically investigating laptop models from various manufacturers and sources, and this one maintained it's place on my wishlist along with one of it's Lenovo equivalents.

I saw some question-mark comments about whether Amazon was selling the 5750g, as spec'ed on this page, or if it was, in fact, the 5750 without the NVidia graphics processor. In the end I decided to order it and consider it a bonus if it was the NVidia chip installed, and so I was really pleased when it arrived, and I found that it is, indeed, the 5750g as detailed.

My first concern on removing the laptop from it's sturdy packaging was that I could hear something small rattling around inside. Having had plenty of prior experience of disassembling and assembling PC's, I removed the screws holding the back cover on the chassis. Trapped within the murky depths was a loose motherboard screw, which plopped out onto the carpet! A little disappointing, but ultimately not a...

Review 1 : Very nice product
This laptop is great so far - no problems at all. It does everything my wife needed it for and because we ordered Office Student Edition we got money off both. I had no problems connecting it to my wifi router and straight onto internet. Took about 10 mins to get the setting sorted for my home network and now able to file and printer share within the network. Quite honestly it wasn't hard!
As to performance - obviously Vista is a bit bloated but quite frankly its not a major issue and system runs ok. It's not blisteringly fast but after discount the laptop cost

I recently upgraded from a Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista. I do not regret buying this product at all. For a start, the MacBook takes less time to turn on (I've counted about 30 seconds) and less time to turn off (about 5 seconds). The MacBook also connects to the internet faster, loads web pages faster etc. Although I liked the design of Windows Vista, I also like the design of the Snow Leopard operating system. The systems are quite different but I found that it didn't take me very long to get used to the difference. At the bottom of the screen is the "dock", which does let you open your programmes faster and easier. You know their opening as their icon jumps up and down. I found this a nice design feature but no real advantage over Microsoft. Another big difference is the "menu" bar. Instead of being attached to the window like it used to be, the bar is permanently fixed to the top of the screen, so this may mean a lot of minimising to get the window you want which is behind...

Review 2 : Just AWESOME!
I haven't bought a new Mac for 9 years, but had to upgrade my creaking, ageing Titanium PowerBook from 2001. Quite simply, this is an awesome machine (as I knew it would be!). With a more than adequate 2Gb RAM and 250Gb hard drive coupled with the 2.26Ghz dual processor, this little MacBook really delivers.

The thing that has impressed me most though was the speed with which it set-up and connected to the internet. It immediately found my wireless hub, I selected it and entered my password and that was it. The email was just as easy. I think I was online in about 2 minutes. Literally.

Apple consistently offer fantastic products which are designed right down to the last detail and this MacBook is no different.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
