Little niggles
The laptop is a good solid product. My only reservations are associated with the keyboard layout. The delete key is very small. The Samsung setup was straight forward and "Windows 7" was installed with very few questions. Samsung have supplied a utility for setting up networks that is very effective. I had everything up and running in a couple of hours. If you come from the Windows XP stable like myself then "Windows 7" takes some getting used to. If you install new software, e.g. "Microsoft Office Professional", then don't expect to find it on the "Start Menu" after installation; it's there, you just have to find it. "Windows 7" has a new search facility on the "Start Menu". I typed in "word" and there it was! You now have the choice of setting up quick access using the "Start Menu", "Task Bar" or "Desktop". Flexibility comes at a price. Overall, a good combination of hardware and software.

This Specific Samsung R780 17.3 inch Laptop Intel Core i5-520M 2.4GHz, 4Gb, 640Gb, Blu-ray Read/DVD Multi RW, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit (Red) works great. simple to use as well as change. The Cost of this was reduced when compared with other place, my partner and i other locations explored, instead of much more as compared tp comparable product or service.

Review 1 : A desktop replacement
I have been using a computer since DOS and through all ages of Windows, but allways a desktop because to me laptops never had enough under the bonnet. That is until I trawled through all the usual sites looking to purchase my first laptop, knowing my requirements I settled on this Samsung model and with express delivery from Amazon I had it up and running within the week. To my utter disapointment the laptop had 5 Blue Screen crashes in three days related to an internel power fault. I contacted Amazon who replaced it very next day. The replacement laptop is now running as it should do, it is a fantastic replacement for my trusty desktop the finish and style are great, the specifications make doing any work a pleasure, I found the inclusion of an eSATA port a boost when doing large backups/transfers etc. This model runs very cool, have been using it almost constant for past month even leaving on overnight and using desktop a lot less, eventualy I will use this as my main PC and clear...
