The Dreaded 7 Beeps...
Turned laptop on this morning and was greeted by a black screen and seven beeps. Having just visited the Dell Web Forum and having seen a couple of reviews here - I now know that I'm not alone. Had the laptop about 16 months and by the looks of things, it's destined for the local tip!

Review 1 : M5030 - motherbaord issue - non-booting 7 beep problem
Be warned that this model does have some inherrant problems with the motherboard - there are over a dozen cases on the Dell website of owners having motherboard problems within a 6-18 month window. Even those fortunate enough (?) to have the problem within the warranty period have suffered two or three failures with replacement motherboards.
So advice is to keep well clear.
