Product Description
Lenovo Ideapad
I recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad U310 from Amazon. Delivery was fast and effortless.
The so-called ultrabook was a major disappointment. Firstly, and most seriously, I found it nearly impossible to set up a network connection. I asked the University IT services to intervene and they confirmed that there was an intermittent fault in the network adapter that was probably hardware related. Which serious company would send a product to a customer without extensive testing?
The second problem is that the keyboard is so flimsy that it bends down with the lightest of keystrokes. One other gripe is that it takes some fiddling to lift the screen, as there is no indentation to insert the thumb into.
The unit is going back and I will not look at Lenovo products for the next 10 years or more!

Review 1 : Good, but with a few minor niggles
Having owned this for about a month now I can review with some experience of the machine. Firstly, the model number is : MAG66UK (see product details), and this is definitely the newer 'Ivy Bridge' architecture processor model - in answer to another reviewer. Amazon need to update the main headline description.
I'm quite happy with the screen quality and if you read the 'pro' reviews online you'll see most reviews agree it is above average quality. I chose the aqua colour top model with white interior and it really is a pleasure to look at and use after owning standard black/graphite coloured laptops in the past.
I have no issues with the keyboard - the keys are all well spaced out with good responsiveness, and I can type at speed for some time without my fingers feeling sore!
Videos play well and sound is acceptable quality. The touchpad is large and responsive and I like the tap sensitivity of it, although I would have preferred less travel on the...
Review 2 : bad screen
This laptop has a screen from the '90s with low brightness washed off colours and very narrow viewing angles. Good enough only for a very cheap netbook and not for a 650 pound ultrabook. This laptop feels also quite flimsy and frigile. I sent it back because of the screen.
