Review 1 : Very good machine for the price
This is a review for the Acer Aspire Timeline Ultrabook M5-581T: 15.6" screen, intel core i5 processor, 6gb ram, 500gb hdd, windows 7. There are plenty of in-depth reviews out there by people who know their stuff, so this is a non-teccie's initial impression.
I bought this to replace a 5 year old Dell Inspiron, which like its owner had got slower and more jittery as time went on. I was intending to hold out for an i7 quad core processor, but cost was an issue and to be honest, I don't use my laptop for heavy duty stuff - mainly games, word documents and internet browsing. I didn't want windows 8 either, partly due to the many negative reviews (I know you have to use a pinch of salt) but also because I wasn't sure I'd make full use of it. I secretly lusted after an ultrabook but thought I couldn't afford one, so when I found this Timeline in-store at an astonishingly low price I snapped it up.
