It came day after order very fast. It took 5 mins to setup, but straight on the internet and browsing. Very nice layout quality screen good speaker quality. just all together a great laptop. would recommend to anyone looking for a laptop on a budget.

This particular Acer Aspire 5742 15.6 inch Laptop (Intel Core i5-480M Processor, 6 GB RAM , 500 GB HDD, DVD-Super Multi DL drive, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) - Black perrforms excelent. simple to operator and also change. the price for this became lower as compared to other locations, my partner and i other areas reviewed, and never far more when compared with related product.

Review 1 : Good value laptop
I bought this laptop to replace my 3 year old Medion laptop and I have to say I'm really happy with it so far. The hard drive is large, with the 6GB of RAM and fast processer meaning it can handle multi-tasking some fairly resource intensive programs with ease. Windows 7 looks great too, although it really isn't much different to Vista to use. I'm not a fan of computer games but I saw on reviews on other sites that you would need a seperate graphics card to play. To test it I downloaded a couple of demos - COD 4 and NFSW - both played perfectly which may help some people.
There are a couple of poor aspects, one being the extremely short battery life when multi-tasking, it doesn't bother me too much as I use it at home but may be an issue if you need to use on the move. Also it only has one speaker which is poor quality, again I use external speakers so not too big an issue.
Can't give it 5/5 as it isn't perfect, but I always thought I would be buying a 4/5 laptop...
