Review 1 : Excellent Notebook!
This was purchased after a lot of research and customer reviews on performance, finally came to this decision.

It lives up to it's promise with a fast boot and excellent mouse/touch-pad speeds, I will not be using all the additional software that is inevitably bundled with named brand products.

This may be useful to others (Less "techy" folk) but I much prefer to install my own applications and I have to say, I really don't like other stuff/trial software, etc., being foisted on me.

It's totally unnecessary, and the Brands concerned obviously get kick-backs from the sponsored software, but I don't have to like it.. so it was all quickly uninstalled!

Rant over, but apart from that, the Notebook really is excellent and well recommended, being robust and well made.. with a good Intel CPU and ample HDD space.. Windows 7 is the business too!

Review 1 : What a disappointment
My old Toshiba laptop (c.2001) died and I was really looking forward to a modern machine with the latest sound and vision technology. Ten years on I literally couldn't believe the quality of the hardware on this machine.

The screen on my old machine had to be viewed from just the right angle, but if you got it right the pictures looked lovely. This one's viewing angle is if anything worse, and if you move the screen to get the best result, the colours are wishy-washy and beautiful pictures are barely worth looking at. There appears to be no way of adjusting colour saturation, contrast or anything else (I think this applies to pretty much all laptops). You can make the picture dimmer. That doesn't help.

I couldn't work out what was wrong with the sound. All the controls I could find were maxed out and I could hardly hear it. The answer was: nothing was wrong. The sound is just unbelievably weak and tinny. I don't know how anyone could even have a conversation over...

Review 1 : Toshiba Satellite Pro C 660 21D Notebook
Recieved the Lap top the other day it will be used for normal home use, ie e mails, Internet and playing some of the pre installed games.

Found it very easy to set up and transfer all the information from my old laptop to it, Keyboard very good up to the usual Toshiba standard,the Intel Core i3 370m as fiteed to the C660 21D seems to cope with all my requirements ie mail and internet etc.Have found some of the installed programs which came with it surplus to my needs so have removed them.

Only complaint so far is number of USB ports only two on this model, which I feel is not enough as two can be taken up with printer connections and a wireless mouse etc however I feel it is a small gripe !.

Overall a good value laptop for normal home use.

Very pleased with this laptop, bought to replace a four year old Fujitsu.The speed difference is great, no more waiting for app's to load. My only complaint is that the touch-pad is very sensitive and offset to oneside, which means that you can lose control of the cursor mid work. The keyboard is a pleasure to use, large keys with a positive click. I would recommend this laptop to prospective buyers.

Review 1 : This laptop is Good but not great
I got this laptop from a seller on eBay back in July, the seller originally said it was in working condition but in fact it was not. This laptop was in such a state that I couldn't boot it up without burning my lap.

Since then it has been to a repair shop twice, and now is my most favourite Computer ever. It's super quiet and well it has a 2.4Ghz processor, that's enough to play some of the better games out there. Let's just say that the game known as Minecraft, works surprisingly well on this laptop.

I've upgraded the RAM to 8GB, this has improved quite a lot of the problems I had back when I got it. (you see the seller said it had 4GB when in fact when I got it, it only had 1GB, and no I couldn't send it back to get my money back, from the lying *insert bad word here*).

If you're willing to put the work into it, and when you buy the laptop don't forget to get an extended warranty, just in case. This laptop can actually be pretty amazing...
Review 2 : Flimsy laptop
I've had this laptop less than five months and a couple of weeks ago I found that the LCD screen became unclear and green lines gradually took up half the screen. Over a couple of days three cracks on the screen grew more and more visible.

Now this purchase was not cheap and as so I took great care in handling it. My previous laptop lasted me about 8 years so believe me when I tell you: I did not drop the laptop, I did not kick it and since I live alone, nobody else did either.

I have heard from others that the damage may have occurred from simply closing the it, a design flaw in many modern laptops that try to make their product as light as possible. A good tip when browsing for a new laptop is to put pressure on the back of the screen panel and see if it affects the visuals on screen.

Anyhow, I have tried to get through to Sony but it was a waste of time trying to get hold of them and they will only charge you an extortionate price in replacing or...
