Review 1 : The Ultimate Ultrabook
I have been using this Ultrabook for just over 24 hours and I think that I have at last found the ultimate portable computer.

It looks incredible and is at last a Windows PC that can be placed next to the MacBook range of computers and not be found wanting on looks or performance, the Acer Logo on the back of the screen also lights up which is a nice touch.

It is extremely light and can be picked up with one hand with no problem, it is also extremely fast to start-up and shutdown, either from sleep mode or from a full boot, in fact it is up and running as soon as you open the screen.

The display is excellent and the touch screen works very well, the keyboard takes a bit of getting used to as the keys are quite flat, but seems fine to me after a bit of use, the backlighting on the keyboard is also very good, the track pad is a bit tricky to begin with but after a bit of fine tuning seems to be working fine now.

With WIFI and ethernet ports it has good connectivity although no bluetooth so you need to buy a cheap dongle for one of the 3 usb ports. The built in solid state media is shock proof and whilst no CD/DVD is included again a USB model can be sought cheap and the enclosed recovery DVD is excellent. Asus has done a lot to make this device "just work" and is much faster in the customised Xandros model than the Windows XP but the most frustrating issue is Asus's decision to release this in the UK with 4400mh battery giving you less than 2 hours battery life- SHOCKING!. The computer media incorrectly reported the life due to them getting the large battery (funny that!) but failed to correct the error. All in all a great machine let down by poor battery and poor upgrades and software. Go with the 901 or 1000H and install Ubuntu.

Review 2 : The best computer I've ever bought
We were a 1 PC family (my work laptop). My wife, who is used to high-speed PCs at work, was constantly moaning about my ancient 3.6kg Toshiba laptop, so I bought her an eee PC 900 with Linux, and now we fight over using it! It worked straight out of the box, picking up the wireless router and bluetooth mouse with no problem. I've never seen faster downloads, even on the network at work, so I don't miss the 'n' wireless. Neither of us had ever used Linux before, but after one Saturday afternoon trawling the many third-party web sites and blogs the interface is so 'Windows-like' that you wouldn't know the difference.

The three best things are weight, durability and speed of boot. My wife carries it around in her handbag without fear of damaging it.
