Best 'netbook' I could find for the money!
Searching for a netbook is like picking the perfect sheep. They all have the same specs, a similar look and make the same noise. Baahhhaahhhaaa.....

After many a day searching and indeed some late nights searching (for netbooks, honest!), I finally found what I was looking for. I nearly bought the HP mini at just over 200 notes, but I wanted more power, Captain.

For me, this is an ideal machine, not too small that you'll lose it down the back of the sofa, not too big so it crushes your lap or the coffee table (I only drink tea, why do I have a coffee table!), but just right, so you can browse the web and watch online movies / tv all you want.

The size also means I can carry it around with ease, in a carry case of course, wouldn't want the little beauty getting scratched now!

A warning to anyone still thinking of buying this laptop
I don't know whether my laptop is simply extremely faulty, or if it's a problem with this make/batch. But I was given this laptop quite some-time ago as a birthday present it was bought from Tescos. So it had a one year guarantee on it, in that year it had to go back several times because of issue after issue after issue.

Pros -
+ The laptop has decent specifications for average use
+ The wide-screen is brilliant for movies
+ Speakers are well-placed so they won't interfere with typing
+ Because it's issued with Windows 7 it's easy to navigate

Cons -
- It's very heavy, I have a newer laptop (gaming one) that has a massive battery and is a-lot larger in size but it weighs the same
- The battery doesn't hold charge for anywhere near what's advertised
- The charger it came with melted, (a friend of mine who had this laptop too, their charger caught fire)
- It gets incredibly hot (now I'm no idiot, I use my laptop on hard clean...

Review 2 : Right second time
I spent a great deal checking all the options before settling on this ACER laptop. It is or my 9 year old son, so I was looking for something that gave reasonable perforamnce in basic functions such as web surfing and writing documents at a reasoanble price and this certainly fitted the bill.

It was very easy to setup and was up and running in no time at all. That's when I hit the snag - as soon as I moved the laptop more than a metre from my wireless router it lost connection. After several reboots and reloading drivers it was still no better. I knew it was the kaptop having an issue with range as I had five other laptops connecting at the other end of the house with no problem. However, I can have nothing but praise for Amazon's customer service. No quibbles, no declarations that it must be my fault. The faulty laptop was collected the next day and the replacment arrived the day after. This one worked perfectly.

This machine meets most of the requirements for a basic laptop at an affordable price. It is lightweight and stylish, and more than fast enough to deal with e-mails and web browsing. I regret from my first review that i wrote it just a couple of days after i bought it. Well, 4 month past and already had to send it to repaired as DVD/CD player didn't work...Annoying computer and annoying windows 7, just for to give an example, every 5 min a small windows open to tell u something and i been f..looking around changing all the settings and still happen, also shut down by itself when he wants, etc etc...one good thing is that this computer is for my husband and not me, I've got my Apple laptop for 7 years now, is the most basic one but has "never never never" break down, not even a programme, yes, is true that u pay more money but u know what...is worse it!!!
So to this ACER laptop that already broke down in just 4 month, i don't really think it will last a year and a half...ACER still rubbish!!!
