Best 'netbook' I could find for the money!
Searching for a netbook is like picking the perfect sheep. They all have the same specs, a similar look and make the same noise. Baahhhaahhhaaa.....

After many a day searching and indeed some late nights searching (for netbooks, honest!), I finally found what I was looking for. I nearly bought the HP mini at just over 200 notes, but I wanted more power, Captain.

For me, this is an ideal machine, not too small that you'll lose it down the back of the sofa, not too big so it crushes your lap or the coffee table (I only drink tea, why do I have a coffee table!), but just right, so you can browse the web and watch online movies / tv all you want.

Well I bought this for myself as a christmas present to myself, I had been looking for a netbook for my college work, and really wanted something that was as portable as possible. I decided on an Acer because they are one the world's largest computer and computer component manufacturers, and having owned an old one previously (which has been proved to be very rugged).
I decided that the '5735' spec was enough for me in reality - it is very hard to resist 'spec creep' ever upwards and ever more expensive.

I have not been dissappointed at all; it has been a really good buy and excellent value for the money.

The wide screen (16:9) is very useful as it enables you to have more usable, active open windows at the same time which I have found to be useful to my way of working. Also the wide screen means that the keyboard is pretty well full size and with a proper number pad to the RH side.

The built-in webcam performs well and in pretty dark conditions too, overseas friends on Skype have commented on the clarity of picture.

It has acore 2 duo processor T5800 2.0GHz, 800mhz and 2mb L2 cache that is enough for any multitaxing you might think of.
HDD 160 thats large enough for me.

... I have got a lot from Amazon reviewers in the past so this is my turn! I didn't actually purchase from Amazon - I went direct through Apple with a cosy educational discount! I opted for the 17" high resolution screen with a 200gb 7200rpm drive and 2gb memory. I have finally (after 4 days) transferred my old PC data across which I did via a crossover cable easily. The MacBook Pro is amazing - it is absolutely rapid at any given task, and Leopard is a joy to work with. Already I look at my old Windows XP interface with slight pity! The 17" high resolution screen is class - but be warned you need to set the font size preferences with certain applications to medium (or just zoom in) - my eyes can't quite cope at times! .. Review 1 : OK, looks nice but overpriced and not without crashes
I'd second win2mac's review - I moved from a Dell Inspiron 9400 to a MBP (with 4gb of RAM) as I was so shocked and disappointed by how rubbish Vista was. From the Apple's marketing I was expecting the machine to fly, and to never crash. I had reservations about build quality, having ordered an Apple before (cube) and it not work out the box, but so bad is vista that I was prepared to take the risk.

1) reliability, my macbook is more than 2 years old and it performs exactly like the 1st day I bought it (actually better now with Leopard Snow OS).
2) durability: no comment see above
3) user friendliness: all Mac apps are user-oriented and it's child's play to operate them. However, the documents generated are so much more professional, precise in design and absolutely professional, compared to hesistant, complex and unreliable on my work windows based laptop.
Creating a network is plug and play and I am sorry for Windows fans but I have no interest whatsoever in becoming a computer engineer to operate a laptop and a wifi network and I m not interested in failures in DLL and why they messed up my laptop like all laptops I had before. it just should not happen, simple!

I purchased 14 months ago a Toshiba NB200 notebook complete with 3G feature. My main purpose of use was for browsing the net and because of its size, to take it with me when travelling. At the beginnning it worked ok without any problems although quite slow most of the time, and after about 8 months starting giving me intermittent problems... one day it would start up, the next day it would not. I brought it back to the shop where I purchased it prior to the warranty expiring and was advised by the representative to remove the battery when it was operating on mains power and vice versa, so I followed these instructions and monitored its performance. It appeared to be working ok again apart from the odd day here and there when it would not start up. To cut a long story short, a few days ago it would not start up for over a 3 day period and I took it into the repair centre to be told that the warranty had expired and that I had to pay SR200 ($53)for them to "service" it. Review 1 : Small, light, cute, amazing battery life - an excellent netbook
I can't comment on this in comparison with other netbooks, as I've not tried them, but this is a great little machine. The reason I bought it was the amazing 9 hour battery life (be careful precisely which model you buy as not all the NB200s have a 6-cell battery like this one), and it certainly lives up to that. It's great having such a little portable machine that you can carry around in your bag almost without noticing. I love it!

It's quick enough for web browsing, email and word processing, which is most of what I do on computers anyway. (I've already got a big and more powerful desktop to do more processor-intensive things.)

Things I particularly like? Review 2 : Light, small with great battery and good performance
I have been using this notebook for about week now for about 10 hours a day, since I got the notebook and am very pleased with it.

VERY IMPORTANT: there is NO CD/DVD DRIVE in this notebook so I do recommend creating System Restore right after the first turning the machine on for the first time.

Review 1 : Good for some tasks
I got this laptop as a gift for christmas and have to say it isn't half bad.

Not ground breaking performance but does it's job well for general web surfing and basic tasks such as watching DVD's, editing word documents, listening to music and other general tasks.

If you decide to make Recovery discs, lable the first one as disc 2 or whatever you want to lable it as, as the Recovery disc creator first creates disc 2 then disc 1, also the provided McAfee Internet Security is only a 30 day trail period, which after that you'll need to buy it, but in saying that there is far better security applications such as eset Smart Security.

The hard drive is partitioned in to two drives in which are, C drive is 74.2GB and E drive is 73.3GB to which only 5.17GB of space is used for HDDRecovery is a waste of unused space.

Also I would recommend that you buy a card reader and also a SDHC SD 4GB or a SDHC Micro SD 4GB card to take advantage of ReadyBoost to...
