Review 1 : Sony VPCCA1S1E - Quirky looks but great laptop
Initially concerned that some of the "expert" reviews were a bit critical of this laptop. I bought this as a second computer to mainly use around the home in support of my desktop. So far I have found this a great machine. I bought the white model, mainly because it was a good price. Yes it does look different to other laptops, but as all the others look similar, this makes a refreshing change. Probably is a good idea to check it out first before committing to a purchase especially if planning to purchase one of the more flourescent colours!.
Slightly shorter battery life to others no problem for me as it will rarely leave the house.
One review complains that the screen gives poor colours and contrast. This is all adjustable from within the supplied software and I have customised mine to give a good picture.
Another review complained about the keyboard - it is fine and very positive.
Sound a bit weedy, but I have found this normal for a laptop, the speakers are...
Review 2 : SONY VAIO VPCCA1S1E I5
Arrived very quickly and only took 5 minutes to set up. I am not very technically minded so it was a relief that there were no problems. I do not know much about Windows 7 but found it fairly straight forward to get to grips with how it works.

I have not used a lot of the features and functionality so still early days on that front. A nice feature is the backlight on the keys (seems to know when I am getting near to the keyboard which is a bit weird)

Very impressed so far.

Review 1 : Amazing piece of kit that just takes some getting used to
This laptop is pretty pricey, however it's still well within what I'd call the ultrabook spec range, around the middle. I'm going to go through the pros and cons:

Cons:

No backlit - this is a bit of a let down but the only place I'd use it is in bed where I'd have it in tablet of stand mode, so not too fussed

Only 4gb of RAM - this is about the minimum expectation, I'm going to upgrade this

Only 128gb hard drive - its filled with Lenovo stuff, and there's a massive partition for Lenovo recovery, however this is easy to fix and, as there's a second msata slot, I'm going to add another msata ssd

No Ethernet port - this is a real downer, but they've had to get rid of it to make it so THIN and there's wifi practically everywhere nowadays

The fans are on constantly - In a quiet room this gets annoying but I usually have music on or something so it doesn't matter, plus Lenovo are apparently working on a fix for that...
