Good except battery life
Have been quite impressed with this laptop except one of the stated selling features was very good battery life, initially it was ok-ish but within a few charge cycles has dropped and is now very poor. If battery life is important to you then beware.

Let me be fair and declare that in legal terms, I have not been cheated. I bought the product as described, from . What I am angry about is not the delivery (so quick I should have smelt a rat), nor the laptop which is doubtless as good as Asus usually makes, but the Windows 8 Operating System & its User Interface - which in my opinion, are opaque, cluttered with advertising and toys (called apps) and must be nearly useless as a serious tool for 'work'. I have only had it a day but I see little likelihood of me changing my mind.

This is my fault, I bought a laptop to work with - and I can't easily perform what I would describe as work. A clue to readers is that Asus has provided a simple Desktop perhaps in an attempt to make amends. I am a retired school ICT coordinator and teacher and I feel a fool for making this mistake.

I am looking for a company that will uninstall W8 and install W7!

This laptop is very stylish and at this price of just over 650 is great value too.

Pros - Very good touch pad - probably the best I've ever used
- Very fast, loads pages quickly and can be used to play games
- The internet only button is very good allowing you to access the internet so quickly
- Very big hard drive easily enough to store everything if your like me and using it for work + I've got a few games on there at they haven't slowed it down
- 4GB of RAM is great

Cons - Sound quality isn't great, not awful but just not great you may want to invest some money in speakers
- I'd like it if the screen were slightly bigger (15"-16" would have been good)

The battery life is neither good nor bad I found it would last about 2-3 hours but after a while the time it last's for does as expected decrease so when that happens you may wish to buy a new, better battery which for the recent Sony laptop's are widely available...

Pros- Light and easy to carry.
Programs load up fast
Sony Gate is very useful, although would be much better if it can be moved to the side instead of it being at the top as it gets in the way of tabs.
Keyboard and mousepad are good quality and easy to use.
No major problems.

Cons- Battery life isn't that great. About An hour, but it is a vast improvement on my old laptop which only last about 10 minutes.
