Style, Elegance & PowerI took delivery of this little beauty yesterday. I was looking at the 8GB version, but the extra 400 quid didn't really seal the deal for me. I will upgrade the RAM myself, if and when the time comes, as 4GB is more than enough for now, even with Windows 7 Home Premium. I've been looking for a new laptop for a couple of months now, but wanted high-spec without the high price tag. Granted, 1,200 is more than enough for a laptop, but once you unwrap this powerful, elegant piece of equipment, you will realise this is money well spent.
Everything about the Ethos says style and power, From the brushed metal design, 18.4 inch screen, 5.1 surround sound, 640Gb HD, Blu-ray, Quad-core I7 processor. It's difficult to believe that this would need replacing for at least 5 years. If you're looking for portability though, then this probably isn't for you. This is a good, solid multimedia and/or gaming desktop replacement.

Reported Wi-Fi problems is actually Win7?I've seen a lot of reviews panning this product because of wireless lock-ups and other software-related issues.
As this laptop comes pre-installed with Win7 x64, nobody has mentioned the comprehensive lack of driver compatibility support - from MS or 3rd parties - on this platform.
If you're having problems with graphics, wi-fi, network etc. on Win7 x64, whatever the hardware, you can bet the problem is in Windows 7, not the laptop.
Try installing a production-ready OS like XP x64 - Win7 x64 isn't quite ready for prime-time just yet...
