Sony Vaio VPCSB2M9E/S.CEK S-Series 13.3 Inch Laptop (Intel Core i3 2.1GHz Processor, RAM 4GB, HDD 500GB) - Silver Review
Product Description
Battery life not great; overall OK but not as good as expected.
I've just got this laptop and thought I should review it, as I tend to find reviews helpful when deciding whether or not to buy.
First off, the laptop looks nice and seems very slim. Once open it is VERY silvery in colour - my last one had a black surround to the screen which I prefer, but depends what you like. The keyboard is recessed very slightly so the keys shouldn't make contact with the screen, always helpful! The build quality seems decent generally, but the area around the optical drive less so - the drive doesn't quite sit flush, and the casing underneath it flexes when touched, which I'm hoping won't affect the longevity of the drive.
Sony seem to have a lot of their own software on there, which I'll be keeping an eye on. One thing I am impressed with is the fingerprint reader, surprisingly easy to set up and allows you to swipe the reader with a fingertip to access any website you'd normally use a username and password to log into. Review 1 : Top notch ultrabook
This is just the right size and weight for portability. It is thin and dainty and sleek silver with chiclet keys. It is well-built, with brushed metal effect, on the lid, making it finger-mark free material. The casing is not bendy and it doesn't submit when a thumb is pressed around the screen.
There is loads of memory on it, and also interestingly, the keys are also automatically backlit, this is a great feature for me, I am typing with my lights down low and can see every key lit up!
Smashing big screen and no glare, not shiny .
Tinny speakers!
The security measures inside this are amazing, it is able to recognise your finger and scans it and am still getting to grips with all the amazing extra features , it feels grown-up and looks sleek and robust.
I timed how long the battery would last on the stamina button just for basic surfing it was roughly 4.5 hours, if it is put to speed mode everything works that bit harder and goes...
Review 2 : Great little machine
I've had this laptop for over 8 months, since May, and it's been amazing. I love the fact that it has a USB 3 port, although I wish it had 2 - I would copy my pictures from my card reader directly to an external hard drive. Since it only has one it means that I've got to leave space on the laptop to copy the pictures of the day (I'm a pro photographer).
The size and weight makes it very handy for quick picture retouching and selection (I'm talking about 20 Gb of Raw images per day), and it's one of the only laptops I could find whose screen wasn't shiny, so it's an amazing all rounder when on the road. I also use it at home when I can't be bothered to sit at my desk, the size of the screen isn't a problem at all, and as I said it's not reflective so it works in all lighting situations.
The battery lasts for over 2 hours for sure, I use the laptop unplugged in the bathroom to watch movies when in the bath and I stay in there for hours.
I'm going to copy here a...
