glad i bought this laptop
I spent quite a while picking this laptop and now that i've had it a few weeks, i am pleased with my choice. I got the i5 but kind of wish i'd got the i7 now, but that's not to say this one is slow, it's very responsive. Quality is good, looks sleek and is thin. There is no flex (or negligible, it's not hewn from rock)on the top around the touchpad. It feels reassuringly heavy, but is not a brick. The plastic bottom actually feels good to the touch, some have said they think this lets it down, being brushed aluminium everywhere else, but i don't think so - how often do you stare at the bottom? The touch pad is large and resembles macbook. Takes getting used to, and yes, you will often accidently highlight text in a webpage, or inadvertently create a gesture which will show Computer window etc, but after a few weeks now, have pretty much got used to this and find gesture control a benefit. Review 1 : Beautiful but flawed
On first sight, the laptop is a beautiful, elegant machine, with a very solid structure
and seems pretty expensive judging from the materials. The touch-pad feels great, so does the keyboard.
It is very silent and has a pretty fast start-up. The applications coming with this machine (some of
them are not that useful) make it very user-friendly.
On the other hand, while you get to know it better, you realize that it is not that powerful and fast
as expected. The description page fails to inform the customer about the 64MB Dedicated Video RAM
(not good for gaming), but it has a 8GB shared memory so it's not that bad. Not to mention that it
does not have a quad-core processor. It has dual-core and a "multi-threading" setting enabled in BIOS,
which makes it appear as a quad-core processor in device manager.
Now, the major drawback. Six keyboard buttons were set wrong, having different functions from
what were supposed to...
