Laptop faulty from date bought, four months of awful customer service
Laptop was faulty from the day it arrived. Went in to HP for a week to be repaired two times. Both times not coming back fully repaired and with the casing damaged. Then the hard drive failed and it had to go in yet again for a third week long repair job. This whole process was spread out over four horrible months spent on the phone to customer service. After all this all they offered me as compensation was six months warranty extension! DO NOT BUY FROM HP!

Review 1 : The HP 17 1190 is worth its weight in gold.
I needed a laptop was powerful, stable and had a good screen; the HP 17-1190 delivers on all these things.
The Good --
- Incredibly powerful, having Photoshop, Google Chrome, Itunes and Skype open at the same time makes no dent in the performance.
- The quality of the screen and graphics is superb. Gaming is a joy on this.
- The sound of the laptop is AMAZING. Watching Blu-Ray DVD's on this laptop is really enjoyable.
- The design is beautiful, big but slimline and the backlit keyboard is a really nice touch.
- Lot's off different ports.
The Bad --
- It does run a bit hot on the left-hand side, it's not very noticeable, but to be safe I bought a laptop fan just to minimize the potential long term effects of the heat.
- This laptop is definitely not portable. Sure you can carry it, but it's way to big to take to a lecture or something.
- Some of the programs HP pre-installs are really weird and not helpful at all, luckily...
