HP DM1-3100 11.6 inch Laptop (AMD Dual Core E350 Accelerated Processor, 3GB RAM, 320GB HDD, Windows 7 Home Prem) - Black Big Discount
Product Description
Excellent product
Have been looking for a small laptop for a while and this hits the spot ! Nice build quality, strong performance and seemingly endless battery life. Runs all my office software like it should and browses the internet quickly and smooth. Have put some HD films on it as well and they also run well with no flickering. Cant fault it and will be taking it with me eveywhere. After looking online for a laptop I kept seeing good press reviews, so I made the decision to purchase based on that.

Review 1 : So far so good!
Bought this today from John Lewis (paid a bit more than advertised here).
The reason that I chose this laptop is that it's small, light, has a good battery and unlike some netbooks (I'd actually class this as a hybrid), it has 3GB Memory AND Windows Home Premium AND a decent processor. That alone is worth the small premium.
So why not 4*?
- The trackpad is okay but the buttons are rubbish! The man/woman that designed this part should be taken to design classes!
- A/C Cord plugs into the side which is a bit awkward when it's plugged in. Again a design niggle.
Otherwise, pretty good! Out the box, set up and connected to the my wifi in less than 10 minutes! I also installed Office Professional and it runs as well as on my Core i5 laptop.
Will update in time!

I've had this computer for a week now. The battery seems to last forever. I find that Internet Explorer runs very slowly so...
Review 2 : Wonderful laptop
As someone who has been on the verge of buying the Macbook Air for past 8 months, finding the HP DM1 has been a revelation and that Apple machine is fast receding from my mind. The DM1, I now realise, is exactly what I've been looking for. I wanted something to pack in my bag when I go away to enable me primarily to store, view and edit photographs on the move. Using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop5 is too much of a struggle for a netbook, but this DM1 handles these applications admirably. It's not replacing my desktop machine, but I tend to use it all the time around the house now.
This DM1 has a fantastic keyboard, absolutely no flex, responsive and so easy to type on. The trackpad can best be described as adequate and takes some getting used to, and having a wireless mouse helps, but this is a minor quibble in the scheme of things. The build quality is superb, I was expecting a lot of naff plastic, but that is not the case - it really is very stylish. It weighs 1.6kg and...
