Volume control problems
I purchased this item and am taking it back for an exchange tmrw. Above the keyboard are controls for the media player. The usual fast forward, play etc and also the volume. These are not buttons but are lights that are touch sensitive. I pressed the volume key once to turn it up slightly and since then every few seconds the volume starts going up and down erratically and also makes a beeping noise when it does it. This is furiously frustrating as the volume control also comes across your screen and you have to try to work around it. Apart from this,I cannot fault the speed of the processor and it is perfect for multi tasking and does have everything you could possibly need. I'm taking mine back tmrw to exchange for the same one again in hope that I was just unlucky to get the odd faulty one.

Review 1 : AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
I bought a Hewlett Packard notebook and I have regretted it ever since. I deliberately spent a decent amount of money on it to try and ensure that I had a quality product. The one that I picked was a DV51110EM, which has a blue-ray DVD player. If I had rated this when I first purchased it I would have given it a good rating. It looks very nice and was easy to set up.
However, less than a year on it is unusable. It appears to be poorly made as more and more things just keep going wrong with it.
First, it overheats regularly and just turns off as a result. You have to wait till it cools down before I can use it again. Forget playing any games, if there is a disc in it overheats very quickly.
Second, the screen keeps cutting off, you have to wiggle it forward and backwards till it gets a proper picture than you can see. That lasts for a few minutes before you have to do it again.
Third, the keyboard appears to be cheaply made. What was...
Review 2 : Excellent desktop replacement/multi-media machine
I bought a dv5 1110em about 6 months ago. I must admit it wasn't my first (or second, or third...) choice. It was more a case of desperation - having subjected my trusty Toshiba Portege to an accidental assault with a glass of wine (never a good idea, no matter how fine the vintage in question) I found myself in emergency need of a new laptop. Since all the decent looking Sony and Toshiba models were out of stock at the high street retailer I visited on a desperate Sunday afternoon, I plumped for this HP model. And I must say, a good choice it turned out to be. The machine is built to HP's usual high standard, and has some nice styling to boot. The spec is excellent - it's powerful and efficient, and has some nice features (such as a multi-optical drive including Blu-Ray ROM, and a multi-media remote that fits neatly into the SD card slot). It has a good selection of ports (4 USB slots, one of which doubles up as eSATA, a HDMI out, video and audio outs and 2 network cable slots). The...
