Great but only 2 hours battery life.
The laptop has a good range of features: webcam, wireless etc, but I was not happy with the battery life. I contacted HP about it and spent an hour on the phone checking whether the battery was ok. It came out as functioning properly. HP said that about 2 hours is normal, a far cry from the "up to 6 hours" as quoted by Amazon!

Review 1 : Brilliant Laptop!
Absolutely fantastic piece of kit. This laptop was a replacement for another HP Compaq that had died previously. Another review complained about the heat but honestly I can say that this one is alot cooler than my previous laptop. At the time of typing this I've had it on my lap for about 3 hours and I'm not even hot.
It's fairly powerful, tested a few applications and games on it. Civilisation 5, Torchlight and TF2 run fine on it. Going to test how well Crysis and Mass Effect 2 run (badly probably). Photoshop, DVDs, ImgBrn, Reason/Record and Skype all run fine. No setup needed for skype to find the webcam.
The only downside is stripping off all the rubbish that is pre-installed. Once you get rid of magic desktop, norton and the hp advisor rubbish then the system runs really slick.
Out of all the laptops I shopped around for this one met all my expectations and more. It's the perfect balance between price and power.
Review 2 : A+ Good value Compaq out of the box
Spent a long time researching and choosing a 3gb/320gb laptop for a price and this one does not disappoint. Although labelled Compaq this is an HP machine as they own both brands. For
